Friday was a big day for two high-profile Arizona sheriffs, as both Joe Arpiao and Paul Babeu were cleared of wrongdoing by federal and state investigators.
The U.S. Attorney's Office announced it had ended its investigation of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, declining to bring charges of financial misconduct, according to a Reuters report.
Earlier in the day, the state attorney general's office cleared Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu of wrongdoing after allegations Babeu had threatened a male lover with deportation. Babeu had requested the investigation in an effort to clear his name.
